Iris, Bearded War Chief

War Chief Iris has masses of beautiful ruby-red flag-like flowers with brick red overtones at the ends of the stems from late spring to early summer, which emerge from distinctive black flower buds, and which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its sword-like leaves remain bluish-green in color throughout the season.
